Three acceptances
A sagai is not one ritual. It is three, and each one is a family saying yes.

- Anshika’s family marks Arjit’s forehead and receives him as their own son.
- Godh Bharai गोद भराई
- The women of Arjit’s family fill Anshika’s lap with sweets, cloth and sagun, and receive her as their own daughter.
- The rings अँगूठी
- And then, having been given to each other by both houses, they choose each other themselves.
